Below is a link to a news article that just came out detailing our recent presentation to our County School Board here in Watsonville, for just such a project.
We have enthusiastic support for implementing the fuel conversion trial and it will provide the following:
- A clear demonstration that we will not require mechanical conversions (beyond fuel tank venting) to run the Blume fuel in place of diesel
- We will have the first School District in California committed to (and running) a clean, locally produced from food waste fuel for its entire motor pool, including diesel and gasoline powered vehicles
- Our fuel solution will help ensure the School District will be in compliance with the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Low emission Fuel regulations in 2018 and on as new and higher emission regulations come in play in the County and State.
- We will open new broad demand for replacement fuel across the state that will require providers for millions of gallons of fuel
PVUSD looks at transportation system
The Pajaro Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees on Wednesday approved a pilot program to use locally produced, clean-burning fuel in two of its vehicles. If the month-long test is successful, the district will consider using the fuel in all its busses and trucks.
