Presentation Focused on Production and Delivery of Food, Feed, Fertilizer and Biofuel From Farm and Forest Resources
Santa Cruz, CA— November 11, 2014
Blume Distillation LLC, the leading provider of appropriate-scale Biorefinery and alcohol fuel (bioethanol) production equipment, announced today its participation in RELACCx hosted by the American Council On Renewable Energy (ACORE) and the Latin American and Caribbean Council On Renewable Energy (LAC-CORE). Blume Distillation CEO David Blume, Founder and Executive Director of the International Institute for Ecological Agriculture (IIEA) will be presenting the Benefits of an Integrated Approach for producing Food, Fiber, Feed, Fertilizer, Feedstocks for biochemicals, Fuels and Power (IF8PS) at the conference workshop Wednesday, November 19th at the El Conquistador Hotel in Fajardo, Puerto Rico.
“We are delighted to have put together a program that features inspirational thought leaders in renewable energy such as David Blume for this year’s conference,” said Bill Holmberg, the Biomass Coordinator for ACORE and Board Member of LACCORE. “Blume is a globally renowned expert in regenerative agriculture and appropriate-scale biofuel production. His critically acclaimed book Alcohol Can Be A Gas! provides an encyclopedic overview of the iF8PS sustainability model we are showcasing at RELACCx.
“ A number of Conference sponsors and participants will be promoting the The iF8PS concept in Puerto Rico with the hope to eventually carry it throughout the Americas and then to the rest of our hemisphere.” Holmberg continued. “RELACCx provides an opportunity to understand over-all renewable energy technologies, policies, project development, and financing opportunities and features exhibits, talks and networking opportunities to detail the concepts that will hopefully be driving our energy future. He concluded making the point that, “The iF8PS is a family, community and nation building process that is less reliant on fossil fuels while providing for good jobs and a constructive, sustainable future in concert with natural processes.”
RELACCx is a premier renewable energy finance and development event for Latin America and the Caribbean. The conference takes an in-depth look at new business models that encourage small-scale renewable energy deployment and current financial mechanisms for providing utility-scale power. It addresses current challenges and opportunities from investor, project developer, policymaker, and regulatory perspectives to minimize risk and increase the viability of renewable energy projects in Latin American and Caribbean communities.
“The rising cost of fossil fuels, combined with the environmental impact of their extraction, production and use, continues to focus global attention on the need for a fundamental transformation in our energy matrix, “ said David Blume. “Alcohol fuel (bioethanol) can satisfy the growing worldwide energy demand for liquid fuels while reducing greenhouse gas emissions, producing abundant food, livestock feed, organic fertilizer, feedstock inputs, fiber for building materials, energy and jobs.”
“We are engaged in a number of waste-to-fuel projects in the US, Latin America, the Caribbean, and other emerging markets. Working with our NGO partners such as Project Gaia we are demonstrating how life-critical applications including clean in-door cooking and non-electrical generation can be efficiently powered by locally produced, low-cost and renewable alcohol fuel. Our systems incorporate unique technology and proven processes that utilize surplus and underused carbohydrate, starch and sugar resources to produce fuel as well as to generate high-value coproducts such as those Mr. Holmberg has described in the 1F8PS concept.”
Blume Distillation and IIEA are proud technology partners in the United Nations’ Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, and the Environmental Protection Agency’s Partnership for Clean Indoor Air (PCIA) and are helping solve one of the most pressing economic, social and environmental challenges of our time; the need for localized, renewable and clean energy.
